I joined the Macaroni Kid Family as the publisher of Henderson in the spring of 2016. Six months later, we expanded our site to include Boulder City. I loved being a part of the community and bringing all the local family fun to our readers so much that in the summer of 2017, when one of our publishers moved on to bigger and better things, I took over as publisher of SW Las Vegas. Let me tell you something. From the moment I signed on as a publisher, Macaroni Kid, both locally and nationally has undergone so many changes and enhancements. All of which are designed to help improve your access and use of our sites, as well as helping you find all the family fun you can handle.
I figured it was time I put together a quick guide showing you all the parts of our websites - Henderson-Boulder City and SW Las Vegas. Hopefully this helps you maximize the benefits our site offers and helps you enjoy more time with your family exploring southern Nevada.
As you already know, you can easily subscribe to our FREE weekly newsletter which brings you articles, events and more delivered straight to your inbox. Henderson-Boulder City is sent out on Thursdays and SW Las Vegas is sent out on Fridays. Giving you time to make your weekend plans. If you have just found our site and are not yet a subscriber, it’s easy to sign up. Click on the city edition you are interested in subscribing too.

Articles & Guides
Articles are included in each of our weekly newsletters. Plus, we also publish some now and then just on the website. If you want to all of the current and past articles, scroll to the top and there is an “Articles” tab on the menu bar. This will bring you to all of the articles published on our website in chronological order.
Also located on the top menu bar is an option to check out our “Guides.” Our guides are similar to articles, but list fun things to do by topic. Some of our more popular guides include Summer Camp, Spring Break, Indoor Fun and Birthday Party guides. Keep watching our newsletters and checking our websites for new guides.
Looking for something specific? You can use the “Search” bar located near the top right-hand side of the website.
Events Calendar
The “Events” tab on the top menu will take you to our events calendar. You will see options to see what’s happening in the next week, look at an entire month-at-a-glance or set any specific date you are looking for something fun to do. We do our best to fill our calendar with recurring events, such as storytimes, crafts, sporting events, kids night out and much more. We also include many events on the calendar that are not included in our newsletters. You can also search our calendar by age and category.
Find an event you want to remember? You can add it to your iCalendar and Google Calendar. When you find an event you want to add to your personal calendar, click on the event and at the bottom you will see “Add to Calendar”. Click on that and voila … you can easily save it to your calendar.
Do you know of a fun event we missed? If something is not on our Events Calendar, we would love for you to share it with us so we can add it. To submit your upcoming event or let us know about one we missed, use our “Submit Event” button at the top of the Calendar.
Advertisers & Sponsors
Our Business Directory is similar to a Yellow Pages, but ours is just for local families. Some of the advertisers listed on our directory offer special promotions just for Macaroni Kid SW Las Vegas and Henderson-Boulder City readers. Many of the businesses listed are also local subscribers or sponsors of our site. We also share contact details on the directory for local libraries, government offices, national and state parks, as well as classes and family needs.
We love to support our sponsors and ask that our Macaroni Kid readers do the same. Sponsors make it possible for us to offer this free service to you. It also helps us offer the amazing giveaways we have been able to offer. Each and every advertiser and sponsor has been reviewed, approved and added to the website by myself. I check out each advertiser personally so I can assure you that they are safe to contact and to click on the links.

We are on most social media sites. You can find the current ones we use at the bottom of this page on the right-hand side. We currently use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. This is where we post all of the news and information we publish in between newsletters. We are also in the process of setting up our YouTube site, where you will find reviews and things to do in Southern Nevada. Like and follow all of our social media sites for spur of the moment giveaways, announcements and other fabulous things we discover.
Our Homepage
After exploring of our websites, you can reset your searches and return to the homepage. All you need to do is click on the Macaroni Kid logo at the top and you are back to the beginning.
Share the Love
As a subscriber of Macaroni Kid you know and love all the amazing things we have to offer. Why not share the love with your friends and family? What parent isn’t looking for ideas of things they can do, recipes they can cook and crafts they can make with their family? Did you know, the more families that know about Macaroni Kid, the more features to the website we can add, the more giveaways we can do, the more parties we can host and we can continue to bring you all the great information you have fallen in love with.
You can share the email newsletter you receive or you can send the link to our websites to your friends and family. You can also share our Facebook posts on your wall to help spread the love and let everyone know what is happening in Southern Nevada. We love it when you share our hard work!
Traveling
Are you going to be traveling away from the area? Don’t worry, you can take Macaroni Kid with you. We have hundreds of sites throughout the United States, in Canada and we offer multiple national sites, including one for Family Travel. To find a site where you are traveling to, simply visit MacaroniKid.com and choose the state you will be visiting. From there, select the city you are visiting and look for surrounding cities too. You can also do a Google Search, by searching for “Macaroni Kid” and the city and state you are traveling to.
