Prove to kids Santa exists with Greetings from the North Pole

How to send a letter to Santa and receive one back

Are your kids questioning if there really is a Santa? Let the United Postal Service help you prove to your kids that Santa is real and get them believing again. Kids can write a letter to Santa, send it off and receive a reply. Best thing is, the reply comes with a North Pole Postmark. The Greetings from the North Pole Post Office program is a fun and exciting way to share in the joy kids have at Christmastime. It is also a great opportunity and experience for young kids who are learning to write, working on their penmanship and/or are interested in stamp collecting.

Here’s how to send a letter to Santa and get a reply sent to your kids from Santa:

  1. Have your child write out a letter to Santa and place it in an envelope.
  2. Address the envelope to “Santa Claus, North Pole.”
  3. When the child is not around, write a personalized response to your child’s letter and sign it “From Santa,” “Love Santa” or anything similar.  TIP: To show Santa received the letter and to save paper, write the response on the back of your child’s letter.
  4. Put your response in a separate envelope (if not writing on the back of the child’s letter) and address it to your child.
  5. Put the return address of “Santa, North Pole” on the envelope with Santa’s letter in it.
  6. Put a First-Class Mail stamp on the envelope.
  7. Place the envelope from Santa into a larger envelope with appropriate postage and address it to: North Pole Postmark, Postmaster, 4141 Postmark Dr., Anchorage, AK 99530-9998.

It is recommended that letters to Santa be sent by December 7 so they can be received by the Anchorage Postmaster in time for a response to be sent to your child by Christmas.
