When attending events, we love to talk to our readers about what they like about SW las Vegas and why they live here. We received so many different answers, but there were several reasons that just about everyone shared with us. We have put together a list of our readers top reasons to live here in SW Las Vegas and added a few of our own.  

1. Plenty of things to do with the kids (Wet’n’Wild, Red Rock Canyon, Mermaids at the Silverton, Las Vegas Strip, Mt. Charleston)
2. Mild Winters and Warm Weather! We love the weather out here!
3. Outside of the recent earthquakes and monsoon season flooding, there are very few natural disasters. 
4. Professional Sports are here. Not only is Vegas home to the Golden Knights and Aces, Allegiant Stadium is coming along and soon the Raiders will be here too. 
5. Lots of outdoor activities, including heading over the Red Rock Canyon and up to Mt. Charleston. 
6. There’s dining opportunities for everyone in the family. No matter how picky of an eater they are. 
7. No state income tax
8. There’s convenient and affordable transportation. Everything from Uber/Lyft to RTC is available. 
9. There’s plenty of free entertainment throughout the area. For example, check out the Silverton Casino for craft shows and aquarium with mermaids. 
10. Amazing seasonal events, such as Magical Forest at Opportunity Village, holiday craft shows and much more. 
11. Lots of opportunities for day trips, including up to Mt. Charleston or Utah. 

We moved to Southern Nevada five years ago and have loved every minute of it. Though we live in Henderson, we spend a lot of our time in the southwestern part of Las Vegas. There is so much to see and do, we still have not completed wish list of things to do.
