Reopenings Scheduled To Begin Friday Following Phase 2 Safety Guidelines

 The city of Las Vegas will move forward with reopening parks and recreation facilities and amenities on Friday, May 29, with reduced capacity and safety guidelines in place.

     The city is welcoming residents and visitors back to parks and recreation facilities following social distancing and other safety guidelines provided by the Governor’s Office.

     Openings for Friday, May 29, include:

  • All of the city’s 28 splash pads;
  • All of the city’s nine skate parks;
  • Exercise and fitness stations;
  • Volleyball courts; and
  • Basketball courts will reopen throughout the weekend.

     These facilities will operate at 50 percent normal capacity and social distancing guidelines remain in place. Playgrounds and water fountains in city of Las Vegas parks currently remain closed.

     The city is currently working on plans for the reopening of community centers, swimming pools and other facilities and we will provide additional details as those facilities become available.
